This rare, circa 1813 historic inn was completely renovated in 2003 by new owners/innkeepers, Tom & Marcey White, to include exquisitely rich and graceful guest rooms with private Jacuzzi baths. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and guests particularly love sitting in front of the wood burning fireplace in the guest living room for reading or playing games, or enjoying a movie of their choice from the selection of over 200 DVD's in the private guest TV/Movie room accompanied by fresh popcorn and sodas. A gourmet breakfast is served daily as well as homemade goodies for afternoon tea. Guests are invited to enjoy the screened in gazebo, outdoor fire pit, lovely front porch, perennial gardens in season, or wander the grounds on four acres of beautiful Maine woods with trails connecting to the state of Maine snowmobile trails. The Inn is conveniently located to town, restaurants and stores on Route 2 in Bethel just over the Androscoggin River Bridge and less than 2 miles from Sunday River Ski Resort Road. The Mountain Explorer free shuttle to Sunday River picks up 2 doors down and drops off directly in front of the Inn regularly.
Each room features air-conditioning, radio/alarm clock, bathrobes, CD player/stereo, cordless telephone, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, living/dining areas and a modem/data port.

The Bethel area is a paradise for downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling, hiking, hunting, fly and ice fishing and for those interested in historical research and antiquing. Fall foliage is resplendent and the Androscoggin River, Grafton Notch State Park, Gould Academy, NTL Institute, Antiquing in the area, the Bethel Historical Society, the Big Adventure Center featuring water slides, mini-golf, rock climbing and laser tag as well as Historical Bethel Village itself offer something for everyone. A Prodigal Inn & Gallery is situated 1.9 miles from Sunday River Ski Resort Road and 8 miles from Mt. Abram's family ski resort where you can enjoy skiing, tubing, snowboarding and other family activities. A free shuttle travels on a regular schedule in front of the Inn to the Sunday River Ski Resort every 15 minutes in season for guest convenience. The Inn is across from the Androscoggin River, which offers great fishing, canoeing and kayaking a stone's throw away. You will enjoy your stay in this romantic, elegant Bed and Breakfast located on Route 2 just over the bridge at the Androscoggin River in Bethel in the heart of the mountains of Western Maine. |

162 Mayville Road, Route 2, Bethel, ME - Augusta State Airport: Depart airport going southeast on Airport Road. Turn slightly right onto Western Avenue/US-202/ME-17, and continue to follow US-202 West. Turn slightly right onto Main Street, then turn right onto Union Street, which becomes Summer Street. Turn right onto ME-133 West/ME-41 North/Lakeview Avenue and continue to follow ME-133 West. Turn left onto ME-219. Turn slightly right onto Auburn Road/ME-4 and continue to follow ME-4. Turn left onto Canton Road/ME-108 North, and continue to follow ME-108 North for about 21.4 miles. ME-108 North becomes US-2, which you will continue to follow for 16.9 miles until you reach the property. |
